Robin Brueckmann's Road to Belgium Monday, September 18, 2006 - Final Vet Check
Becca was riding Pippin today, but I gave Rocky the day off. I would ride with Missy starting tomorrow. Missy did give me more information about the arrangements for the horses' flight on Thursday. I would have to get the two horses to JFK myself, by noon on Thursday, and then wait around until their flight at seven. This had not been in my plans; last time, when I took Rocky to Belgium in 2003, he was picked up at USET headquarters in Gladstone. Apparently things had changed. I would take Rocky and Pippin. Becca's father had helped trailer Pippin to Morven Park and thence to Unionville, but he had gone home with the truck, to Erie, Pennsylvania, many hours away. The third horse, Barb Grassmyer's Mibis, was flying out of Los Angeles. I did not know what their arrangements were. Midge called me later in the afternoon, after speaking with my vet. I was in the clear about the hock injections. That was a relief! |
