The California couple of Steffen and Shannon Peters kept a hold on the top spots in the Intermediaire I with Steffen Peters on Marlando (Balzflug – Casandra) with his 73.1 performance the Dutch warmblood gelding.

“Shannon set good standards and I had to be better. It’s all her fault,’” said her husband with a grin.l He had been runner up to her in the previous day’s Prix St. Georges.

She said she tried to push Luxor (Ferro – Godette) “for more movement in the trot but I had a couple of bobbles there. I took a risk,” said Shannon, who finished with a 71.75, “and used the canter to try to make up for it.”
