Young Rider Lindsay Challenges Her Elders in USEF National Dressage Championships

Peters Husband-Wife Duo Sweep Prix St Georges

Shannon PetersSteffen Peters said he couldn’t have been happier when his wife of less than a year, Shannon, just edged him out of a blue ribbon with her 71.850 percent victory on Luxor (Ferro – Godette). He and Marlando (Balzflug – Casandra) trailed them with a 71.500 for a second in the Prix St. Georges.

Not getting the win didn’t bother Peters, who brought his wife and horses from their California barn to the finals.

“These are the two top horses at their level, so we thought we should support the sport,” stresses Steffen with his wife in agreement.

Williams also scored a one-two punch in the Grand Prix when Rocher (Rolls Royce – Fraenzi) notched her third victory (70.333) since an 18-month layoff due to an injury. Williams also rode Marnix (Hinault – Ecolien) to fifth (65.208).
