ShoppingA day at the Dressage at Devon Horse Show offers spectators a chance to witness some of the world’s top horse and rider teams in harmony, and plenty to offer during competition breaks as well. A tour through the Festival Area at the 31st Dressage at Devon, September 27th through October 2nd, means a chance for shoppers to browse and buy from 65 vendors and plenty of eating options to refuel the hungry.

Festival Chair Chrisanne Mortensen says, “We have a great mix of the returning favorites, as well as some exciting new shopping options.” Dressage at Devon veterans will be pleased to revisit the shops of Delphine Gallery, Sassafras Studios, Hoofprints, A’Dashi, Outback Survival Gear and other regulars.” Sponsors Hermès, EuroAmerican Saddlery, Equissentials, Ashley’s and Equest Custom will be back, too. “We’re really excited about some of the newcomers, vendors who will be on the grounds for the first time this year,” says Mortensen. Debuting at Dressage at Devon are Thin Line Pads with a new design on shock absorbing pads; Sport Innovations with technologically improved magnetic blankets and slim profile mounting blocks; Catherine Canino gold and semi-precious stone jewelry; Identity by Anne personalized hand-crafted bags; Ellersie Custom custom-made matching horse and dog blankets, pads and bags; Two Blue Dingos Art stained glass; Inc. Cetera, showcasing a gallery of local artists; and Cheri Sorenson Art, painting and metal carved art work. The show offers a balance of equestrian-oriented goods, fashion, jewelry and one-of-a-kind merchandise that appeals to riders and horse lovers as well as non-equestrians.

Shoppers will find plenty to satisfy their hunger pangs as well. Dining options offer the gamut from Apple Frankie’s funnel cakes to hot chili to smoothies to veggie-stuffed pita breads to wholesome, complete meals. The Sweet Shop, Bassett’s Ice Cream and Fudge Delight offer satisfying finishes to every meal. Serious chocoholics will especially appreciate Harbor Sweets - Dark Horse Chocolates, a returning sponsor, with dark, milk and sugar free delights to eat at the show or take home to enjoy.

Dressage at Devon is one of the most prestigious equestrian events outside of Europe. Olympic medalist Robert Dover calls Dressage at Devon “the standard by which all American horse shows should be judged.” Proceeds benefit Thorncroft Therapeutic Horseback Riding, Inc. in Malvern, PA.
