2005 Dressage at Devon Pikko del Cerro HU Wins Born in the U.S.A. Breed Class
The triumph was big for Pikko del Cerro HU as his score of 90 points ranked him first in the Born in the U.S.A. class. This dark bay colt by Pik L out of Roweena is bred by Anne Whitten of Horses Unlimited in New Mexico. The dam is a full sister to Horses Unlimited's Glorioso.
Horses Unlimited brought babies by dressage stallion Pik L and show jumping sire Noble Champion, who all got outstanding results in the 2005 Devon Breed Show. Especially the Hanoverian sire Pik L (by Pik Bube II x Abajo xx), who claimed international fame in the small tour under Dr. Cesar Parra, made an impression in Devon as a breeding stallion. In the get of sire class, his babies placed third with 75.700%. Another Born in the U.S.A. class winner, Con Dia, later on became the Reserve Grand Champion of the 2005 Devon Breed Show. Con Dia (by Contucci out of Cor Dia/Cor Noir) is a Hilltop Farm bred mare who was born in the USA and who won four championship titles, beating many quality imports, on her way to becoming the Reserve Grand Champion of the show. "It is important to recognize that the Reserve Grand Champion of the entire show is judged by all four Devon Breed Show judges at once and was Born in the USA," a proud Susanne Hassler said. by Astrid Appels |
