2004 Olympic Dressage Trials Continue This Weekend at Oaks Blenheim

The 2004 Olympic Dressage Trials continue this weekend with the final two legs of the competition.  The second Grand Prix will be held on Saturday and the Freestyle competition on Sunday at Oaks Blenheim in San Juan Capistrano, California.  Competition begins at 1:00 pm Pacific time both days.

Last weekend Robert Dover on FBW Kennedy won both the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Special and is leading the competition.   Guenter Seidel was second in the Grand Prix and third in the Grand Prix Special on Aragon, and third in the Grand Prix and second in the Grand Prix Special on Nikolaus.

Arlene Page and Claire have voluntarily withdrawn due to a minor veterinary issue.  Fourteen horse and rider combinations will now be competing for a place on the Short List for the 2004 Olympic Dressage Team.

Grand Prix tests at the Selection Trials comprise 60% of the total score (30% each). The Grand Prix Special from the first Selection Trial last weekend comprises 25% of the total score, and the score from the Grand Prix Freestyle this Sunday will comprise 15% of the total score.
