2002 Dressage at Devon Hattrick for Catherine Malone at 2002 Dressage at Devon
While her winning team championship and individual test were steady and rhythmical but too much on the forehand, a change in riding tactics definitely took place in her kur to music. Malone presented her heavy Danish warmblood gelding Kashmir with much more engagement, and although he still got sometimes long in the neck, he was more up and showed better impulsion throughout their musical freestyle. The music was nice and fitted the hoof beat of the horse, but it was not dramatic enough for such an impressive mount. 67.400% resulted in their third victory of the weekend.
Nicole Levy and her chestnut Korrado also make a nice combination. Rushing through their first two tests, the horse being overpushed and with no time to finish his exercises, Levy fortunately slowed down in the freestyle and got her impulsion out of decent collection. The music was catchy and matched Korrado's movements that are characterized by his lovely knee action. A good ride and a good score of 63.917% put them third. Related
