From July 17-21, 2002, Blainville will be host to the first ever FEI Dressage Championships of The Americas (DCA). The DCA will be unique in the format and team composition.

The FEI has approved official team competition at four levels: Grand Prix, Advanced, Young Riders and Juniors. Each team shall be comprised of two riders/horses. A national federation may send up to a maximum of three teams for each level. Off-shore countries that are unable to transport their horses may compete on borrowed horses. Countries from South, North and Central America have been invited to the prestigious competition. If they are unable to ship their own horses, these riders may compete on borrowed horses.

Each level will consist of three tests. The first two will determine the team medals. The third and final test, the Musical Freestyle, will decide the overall individual standings. At the Grand Prix level, riders will perform a musical Pas de Deux to decide the individual medals.

Blainville will also host the CDI-W Dressage International de Blainville which will run in conjunction with the FEI Championships of the Americas.
