Dominates World Cup Qualifier in s'Hertogenbosch
Seven clear rounds was the result of an exiting competition before a very crowded Brabanthal. Ironically, many competitors literally stumbled over the Zangersheide obstacle. In the jump-off, the seven had to compete once more and starting as the third combination, Ludger Beerbaum let Ratina Z fly through the course in 37.87 sec. as the first clear round. Michael Whitaker, Rodrigo Pessoa and Emile Hendrix all failed to improve this result. Emile Hendrix in fact rode 0,11 sec. faster with Ten Cate Finesse, but also got four penalty-points. As the last starter, Jos Lansink needed a clear round to finish this 'Zangerheide-project'. And he did. With his second place, Lansink earned 17 qualification points and qualified himself for the Volvo World Cup final at Helsinki (FIN). The Zangersheide-rider not only did it very well in the World Cup qualifier. He also was high placed in many other classes.
Ratina Z is sired by the legendary Ramiro Z out of Argentina, a daughter of another famous stallion, Almé Z and the mare Heureka Z (by Ganeff), with whom it all began for Léon Melchior. Nissan Calvaro Z (Caletto I x Capitol I) is no stranger to the awards ceremonies either. Last year the Zangersheide-rider was Dutch champion with the bay stallion, and ended second at CSI Monterrey (MEX) and in the German Classics in Bremen (GER). Three weeks ago he was third in the World Cup Qualifier in Bologna (ITA). |
