Fowler-Grace's perspective and thoughts on the Linda McCartney Memorial
Service part
3
by Pam Fowler-Grace
The next evening was our time to shine! I bathed, groomed, and braided my wonderful appaloosa to perfection. A nice young couple, Pat and Jen, picked Pay N Go up and transported him to the Riverside church. Christine and myself followed in her truck. Upon our arrival Christine coordinated with the NYPD and Paul's security force to assure a safe arrival. Sure enough 122nd street (behind the church) was blocked off just for Pay N Go. I was grateful for their foresight because the press and fans where everywhere and seemed out of control. We waited for two hours for the service to begin, but this gave me time to dress into my dressage attire, with my full shadbelly tuxedo, shiny new boots, and top hat that Paul had purchased for us. As we waited, I walked Pay N Go up and down the street to keep his muscles warmed up. |
