January 13, 2006 Iron Spring Farm's Contango Awarded the Predicate Preferent by the KWPN
Contango was listed as the 7th highest dressage sire in the Netherlands in 2005, with a dressage index of 178. The approval of his son, Citango, bred by Loucky Hagens of Virginia helped Contango earn this predicate. "Thank you to all the breeders who have bred to Contango and helped make this possible by producing so many fine sons and daughters and gotten them out there in sport. It is a big day for all of us who love this incredibly special stallion!" Meghan F. de Garay, Breeding Manager, Iron Spring Farm, Inc
Since then we have worked with many Contango offspring and our admiration for this stallion has only increased. We have four Contango offspring in the stable at the moment including Maverick who is doing grand prix and Sambucca who has just turned 7 and who is so much fun to work with and shows so much potential for the Grand Prix that we bought his full sister to breed with! The other Contango we are riding has just turned 5 and is just beginning what promises to be a very successful career. We also have several students with offsprings of Contango. The biggest problem they often have is NOT to sell them" Johan Rockx (wellknown FEI competitor, trainer, and breeder in Belgium) Photo: Johan Rockx and Maverick, by Contango.
