Hanoverian Breeding News Londonderry Offspring Excels at 2003 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing
The head of the youngsters born in 2001 revealed a more balanced quality than last year. Various stallions had the chance to win the competition. Potential customers highly appreciated the possibility to try the candidates at the lungeing rein. It was the first time that video pictures of the stallions were presented in the Internet before. National and international stallion holders were especially informed about this event. Breeding manager Dr. Jochen Wilkens: "This year's stallion market confirmed that the customers are have trust in the work of the Hanoverian Association." The auction of the licensed stallions ended with an outstanding result. 55 of the totally 58 stallions were sold at an average auction sales price of Euro 43.964,00, a result which broke last year's average price by Euro 1000,00. A Rohdiamant/Sao Paulo-son (breeder: J. Brinkemoeller, Droeper - exhibitor: J. Westendarp, Wallenhorst) achieved the highest price: He was sold at Euro 200.000,00 to Denmark. The Celle National State Stud paid the second highest price of Euro 175.000,00 for the chestnut stallion Londonderry/Weltmeyer (breeder: A. Eilfort, Ankum - exhibitor: B. Termuehlen, Fleckeby). A brown stallion by Stakkato/Werther (breeder and exhibitor: A. Kamphorst, Nordhorn/Hestrup) was awarded the Winergy-Prize for the best licensed show jumping stallion. The Sprehe stud farm from Loeningen bought him at Euro 85.000,00. Dr. Bade, the manager of the Lower Saxonian National State Stud, bought seven stallions. Apart from five other national state studs, various other foreign stallion holders belonged to the group of buyers. 19 Hanoverian stallions will leave Germany. The 36 non-licensed stallions were sold at an average price of Euro 15.083,00. The best horse of this collection was a black stallion by De Niro/Weltmeyer (breeder and exhibitor: H. Schuett, Hemmoor) with expressive basic gaits. The Sprehe stud farm bought him at Euro 104.000,00. The export rate was also very high; 14 youngsters will leave Germany. The Celle state stud stallion Brentano II by Bolero/Grande was awarded Hanoverian Stallion of the Year. Applauded by the audience, his breeder Dr. Max Schulz-Stellenfleth was honoured with a valuable bronze sculpture as well as a highly endowed cheque, given by the Uelzener insurance company.
