Awesome schoolmistress for sale, perfect AA horse. 12-year-old, 16.3 chestnut Dutch Warmblood mare. Located west of Philadelphia. Trained to Third level dressage, jumps bravely, trail rides in a group or alone. She is tolerant of a rider sorting out the aids, then locks into the work when a rider gets it right. Safe and easy to handle on the ground. She has tons of show and road miles, so she is ready to teach you how to compete. In addition, she long lines, does quadrille, knows half steps and a bit of school canter, and will lunge with a rider on top so you can work on your seat. She is just a good girl. Recent x-rays

Her dressage training is solid. She is easy to sit and clear in her reactions to the aids. She is adjustable in the trot work with a good start on half steps, and her trot lateral work is elastic. She stays with the rider’s seat in the canter. As a young horse, she competed in the 4-year-old FEI classes, and at 6 earned a red ribbon in Suitability at Dressage at Devon.

In addition to her dressage training, Venus jumps and hacks out calmly. The first week of November she proved her versatility – on Sunday, despite the cold wind, her big gaits earned her “Reserve Champion 2nd Level and Above” with scores in the 60’s in both of her Third Level classes. On Tuesday we went to a clinic with a Big Name Trainer, and we worked on improving her thoroughness and the quality of her changes. Wednesday afternoon she took a jumping lesson (her third time jumping, and we got video). The following Sunday she accompanied the youngsters at a local paper chase. This spring she lead the DVCTA quadrille ride at Radnor and was pinned at the Middlesex County A hunter show.

She is the one horse I could ride without lunging when we were trapped inside without turnout for weeks a couple of winters ago. She comes into the arena with the same consistent work ethic after multiple days of work or multiple days off.

Venus could help someone earn their bronze while enjoying all of the other aspects of horse ownership as well. She is ok with multiple riders, an ideal horse for mom to earn her bronze while daughter enjoyed her over fences. She is reliable and easy to live with. She is just an all-around good girl.
