Syrtaki is a 16.1 hand 2007 German Oldenburg Verband gelding by the successful dressage breeding stallion Sir Donnerhall I (Sandro Hit x Donnerhall). Sir Donnerhall I has sired many auction toppers in Europe and is well known for producing outstanding gaits. Rotspon (Rubinstein x Argentan I) is the sire of Syrtaki’s dam. Rotspon received one of the highest scores in his stallion test and is well known for producing offspring with high rideability and trainability for dressage. The combination of these outstanding lines produces a highly desirable combination for the dressage arena.
Syrtaki is a truly wonderful horse. He is fun to ride everyday. He has 3 good gaits that are easy to ride and easy to sit. He is expressive, forward and obedient. If you ride this horse once, you will want to ride him everyday! He has easy flying changes that are straight and on the aids. He is well suited for a junior, young rider, adult amateur or professional rider. He is easy to train and at 7 years old, he is well on his way to Prix St. Georges in 2015.
Syrtaki has been competed as a 5 year old at Training level with scores over 73% and at 3rd level this year with average scores over 67%. He has won half of the classes that he has entered. He is good at the shows. He does not need to be lunged. He is good in company or alone. He goes to work and is obedient.
Syrtaki is easy to manage in the barn, with the farrier and veterinarian. He enjoys hacking out and training in the arena. He is easy to load onto the trailer and he travels well. He is friendly and enjoys being cared for by his “person”. He has always been sound and healthy.
Syrtaki is an excellent choice for someone who wants to continue their dressage training and have a partner in and out of the competition arena.
