Shagall is a volunteer under saddle with amazing gaits. He is uncomplicated under saddle with a steady feel in the hands and an uphill balance which comes and goes at present because he still has some growing to do and is occasionally butt high in his growth stage.
Shagall's sire, Shakespeare RSF (Sandro Hit/Arrian/Pablo), was bred and is owned by Rolling Stone Farm. Shakespeare RSF was the clear Champion of his 70-Day Stallion Performance Test held in 2009 in Oklahoma. He achieved Class I status with a score of 130.53 points overall (this score reflects a five percent deduction for being over four years old). He also placed fifth for jumping with a final score of 105.31. Shakespeare's scores included 9.5 character, 9 temperament, 9.5 trainability, 8.5 trot, 9 canter (8.5 under saddle and 9.5 cross country), 8 walk, 9.5 rideability, 8 free jumping, 8 stadium jumping, 8.5 cross country jumping, and 9.25 rideability (test rider). In 2014, Shakespeare competed successfully at the Prix St. Georges and Intermediate I levels, with scores up to 73.9% and he was chosen to represent Germany at the 2014 Nations Cup in Wellington, FL. Shakespeare was 5th for USDF Horse of the Year for Intermediare I with a median score of 71.623% in 2014. He scored an 82% in an Intermediare 1 freestyle in 2015. He was the 2016 USDF RESERVE NATIONAL CHAMPION for Intermediare II with a 74+% and he is schooling all of the Grand Prix movements.
Shakespeare’s sire, Sandro Hit, has sired 186 licensed stallion sons, Bundeschampionate winners, FEI dressage horses and record priced auction sales horses, and Grand Prix dressage champions. Shakespeare RSF's dam, EM Acapella, has produced two Champions at Dressage at Devon. From 2009 to the present, Shakespeare RSF has had 56 GOV foals, of which 47 have been named Premium, 16 have been named Foals of Distinction, and 2 stallion prospects were named. As a young stallion himself, he has already sired three stallions which have been licensed by the GOV - Shotgun in 2012, Shavane in 2014 and Shortstop in 2015, all bred by Rolling Stone Farm. He was the sire of the Young Prospect Champion at Dressage at Devon 2014 and he has sired multiple Champions and Grand Champions in dressage breed shows. He was the 2015 & 2016 USEF Dressage Sporthorse Breeding Sire of the Year.
Shagall's dam, Elite Mare CheeChee was the high score Hanoverian mare as a 3 year old with a 7.33. She received 8's for foreleg, correctness of gaits, trot free and in hand and 7's for everything else. She is one of the best moving horses I have ever owned. At her MPT that same year, she received 8's for all three gaits. The judges said on a better rideability day with a softer back, they felt they would have been able to award 9's (she was a little tense under saddle with the crowd around the ring). In August, 2009, Chee Chee was presented to the GOV and she was placed in their main mare book with a score of 7.42. She received 8's for head, trot and general impression. She was also awarded a Non- Oldenburg Mare of Distinction neck sash
