Saint Amour is an attractive and athletic Hanoverian with modern frame, long legs and plenty of flash. He shows great shoulder freedom and knee elasticity making the extended gaits look flawless. He has a huge ground covering canter. He is exceptionally supple and comfortable to ride, giving its rider a very good feeling. He is a quick learner and forward to the leg. Easy to develop by an amateur hoping to win some medals but good enough gaits for a professional looking to compete at an international level. He will be the perfect contender for the 5-year-old classes coming up.
Saint has bloodlines galore. With big names like De Niro and Donnerhall covering the damline and San Amour’s elegant stamp, this boy is a showstopper.
Saint began his show career at the Dressage Affair in San Juan Capistrano in March winning his class with 72% at training level. He won again at Del Mar Nationals at first level, not only advancing a class in his first show but winning it! In his third show, Saint won again in the Materiale Class with a 75.9% getting 8's for his canter. Saint has been successfully winning at shows with all of his riders, including para-rider Holly Bergay, professional Joseph Newcomb and a 14-year-old young rider Kate Eaves Mathews, proving anyone can ride him. He won his last show with Kate in both training and first levels (scores up to 75%). He will continue his show career under rider/trainer Joseph Newcomb. He is currently training at Arroyo del Mar in San Diego.
