Don Principe has proven to be a remarkable Grand Prix competitor. He has competed at the FEI levels with five different riders and at age 17 is still scoring in the 70’s at Grand Prix. Don Principe has won multiple USDF Regional Championships, has many USDF All-Breeds Awards, and has competed at both the USDF and USEF National Championships.
Sire Donnerhall was an International Grand Prix star and was on the medal winning German Teams at the World Equestrian Games and European Championships. Donnerhall’s influence on dressage breeding is undeniable. At the 2016 Olympic Games, over 31% of the dressage horses carried Donnerhall blood. On Don Principe’s dam side you will find the Thoroughbred stallion Prince Thatch, and Durkheim a well regarded stallion for the production of both dressage and eventing horses.
Don Principe’s record as a sire has been excellent. Elite/Premium Mares, Licensed Stallions, USDF Horse of the Year winners, and US National Champions have all been sired by Don Principe. He was the USEF Dressage Breeding Sire of the Year in 2013 and the following year, his daughter, Dansuse MF, was named the Grand Champion at the prestigious Dressage at Devon. From in-hand through the FEI levels, Don Principe offspring are standouts.
