Calypso is a 14-year-old, 17.3 h Grand Prix gelding. He has been shown in the Grand Prix for 3 years by Nicole Perry and has participated in many events. Calypso scored up to the mid 60's at major CDI's and some 70's in freestyles. This has been a wonderful horse in my career and has taught me a lot. Calypso can take a serious dressage enthusiasts to help reach their next goals and teach them the FEI movements. His gaits are expressive but still workable to create the movements out of.
Calypso sustained a minor tendon injury 1 year ago but has had all the best treatments available and has had a full recovery. He is carefully being brought back to work for 3 months already and is making tremendous progress. Calypso, prior to this minor injury, has had no serious lameness and competed at the top level for 4 years. For a little bit of time invested in this horse, somebody can have a wonderful Grand Prix horse that they can invest in to further their dressage education.
Calypso has a wonderful work ethic. His canter is extremely comfortable to sit on and can easily work thru the movements. He is easy to work around and is very sweet. He is not for a beginning rider although. This would be a great Second level riders horse that is looking to learn the next phase of their dressage education.
