While traveling to Holland this year to cover The Dressage World Cup Final, we also visited the small farm of a breeder who has sold many young horses to the friend and client we were traveling with. In the week we were there, we scoured the Dutch countryside and feasted our eyes and our lenses on select foals and young horses under saddle. Our new friend, a licensed breeding judge for the KWPN introduced us to the farmers and breeders in this region rich in dressage bloodlines.

He was impressed with our work, and we were impressed with his horses, prices, honesty and integrity. We decided to work together to present this selection of quality Dutch horses, at fair market value. We returned to Holland in July and have produced a video of the 23 horses, half foals, and half horses under saddle. Our video is available at the nominal fee of $29.95.

The Foals

The foals presented on this video have been selected for conformation, movement, and bloodlines. The sires are Juventus, recently purchased by Iron Springs Farm, Uniform, Kennedy, Variant, Gestion Cocktail, and Gestion Partou. The mares are all Kur and Kur elite, several still competing, all proven producers of competitive dressage horses. Priced from $8,000, purchasing one of these superior babies will put a whole new meaning in "watching your investment grow."

Horses Under Saddle

Can't wait to ride? No problem. We have a selection of 3-5 year olds under saddle, showing you several minutes of each, for you to scrutinize. Priced from $25,000, each horse we have offered will be a standout in the show ring. They have all been started by good riders who are laying down the proper foundation of moving forward and through in the back. We have taken care to present the best in quality we found on this trip.

A great place to visit

We have narrowed the hunt, but most of you, I'm sure, will want to check into your selection further. Also, there will always be more horses to see. Located one hour from Amsterdam, serious lookers will be picked up at the airport and have a choice of a local hotel at about $95, or our favorite, The Tramstation, better known as Annie's, a B&B&B (Bed, Breakfast, and Bar). A room for two people is $70 a day, including breakfast. Annie will adopt you, even do your laundry. I had the best Salmon dinner there with lots vegatables fresh from the daily market. With fun shopping, a nearby castle, and a restaurant inside a windmill, even a no-horsey friend will enjoy the trip!

Once you have made your selection, you will be guided through the process if you wish, of the pre-purchase exam, shipping, and insurance. In "ballpark" figures, a pre-purchase exam for older horses is around $500 done at a highly acclaimed and thorough clinic nearby. Our friends have purchased over 15 horses in this manner in the past two years, and have had excellent results. Even if you wish your horse to remain in Holland either to grow or to be in training there is a good selection of options available for you to choose from. You can be confident that whatever your specific situation is, your needs will be addressed.

Our purpose in doing this is to pass on to you a great find. As we began production, and started to review this footage for the first time, we asked a trainer to take a look.
