Yvonne Barteau and San Remo Top Young Horse Field

Competing in the Young Horse Class at Dressage at Lamplight to qualify at the Young Horse Championship in Verden, Germany this summer, Elite European Sport Horses' San Remo, the 5-year-old Hannoverian Gelding by Sherlock Holmes out of Wiebke by Weltmeyer, qualified with a score of 77.051%. The highest score in the National shows holding the selection classes was the only score to meet the required 75% for the program.

Ridden by Yvonne Barteau, and the talented young gelding dominated the Training and First Level divisions during the winter months in Florida while also training with Carol Lavell. With scores consistently in the 70% he quickly became a leading candidate for the Young Horse selection process, as High Point Champion at the Palm Beach Derby Show (75.909%) and the Heidelberg Cup (78.000%)

Scott Zahner and Mike Denneny of Elite European Sport Horses recently imported San Remo, a 5-year-old Hanoverian gelding. He was the Verband Materiale Class Champion (breeding class) for all of Germany.

In the first year of an organized National selection process, the turn out for the popular FEI World Championships For Young Horses was strong as breeders, owners and riders learn more about this exciting new Championships being developed by The FEI.
