World Cup Image review by Dirk Caremans

Digital cameras provide instant photo delivery for professional magazines and web sites. In Dortmund, Germany, Belgian equestrian photographer Dirk Caremans tested his new Canon digital camera and was able to bring, as sole person, online images of these exclusive annual World Cup finals.

Indoor events are a photographer's worst nightmare but Dirk was able to take some terrific shots. Pictured right you see Anky van Grunsven in her victory lap. The Dutch dressage queen won the World Cup for the fourth time with her Oldenburger gelding Gestion Bonfire (by Welt As xx). This image will be featured on the cover of next week's Hoefslag, a Dutch equestrian magazine published under the authority of BCM (which also supervises the BCM/FEI Riders' rankings).

A preview of the official riders' presentation, Grand Prix and Kur to Music test pictures, award ceremony shots and some nice candids can be viewed at Dirk Caremans' website.
