The Langer Equestrian Group Woodside Summer Circuit is just a week away, starting with the Woodside Circuit Opener (June 20-24), continuing with Bay Area Summer Festival (June 27-July 1), and culminating in the Golden Gate Classic (July 4-8). With new improvements to the facility, the shows promise to be better than ever.
The Bay View Arena Complex has been completely re-graded and re-surfaced, with new footing installed. Riders in Hunter Rings 2 and 3 will be the first to enjoy the new footing. "The Horse Park at Woodside has always been a nice facility, but they have made strides this year to make it even better," stated LEG CEO Larry Langer. "Their cooperation has allowed us to give the exhibitors what they need and put on some of the most prestigious horse shows in Northern California."
Featured events of the show include the USHJA National 3'0" Hunter Derbies, with the high scoring professional and non-professional for the season receiving a lettered jacket courtesy of the LEG 40th Anniversary Hunter Rider Challenge sponsored by Carousel Saddlery.
Jumpers will have a chance for a bonus check in the $25,000 LEGIS Jumper Rider Bonus. They will also get to try out the new bank complex and water jumps that, in combination with the grob, make The Horse Park's Grand Prix ring one of the most exciting places to show in Northern California.
Equitation riders will get their day in the sun with three exciting medal finals: the LEGIS Carousel Junior/Amateur Final, the CPHA Horsemanship Final, and the CPHA Child/Adult Final. The high scoring equitation rider at the Woodside Summer Circuit will receive a $1,000 CWD gift certificate as the LEG 40th Anniversary Overall High Point Equitation Rider.
Trainers still have time to get in on the LEG Maui Trainer Incentive, where their highest scoring hunter, jumper and equitation riders will earn them points in this hotly contested race. Toni McIntosh has a firm grip on her lead, but anything can happen. The final chance to earn points will be at the Nor Cal Medal Finals, a double pointed show.
Entries are available on the LEG website, where a prize list and other show information is also available. For the first time, exhibitors can also submit their entries online through Equestrian Connect.
