With a $35,000 USDF grant to train in Germany with Klaus Balkenhol, Leslie Morse is on the road to the top. With her equine partner, Kingston, Morse won the gold medal in Prix St. George/Intermediaire I at this year's Bayer/USET Festival of Champions in Gladstone, NJ. Together, Morse and her business partner Staffan Encrantz are the driving force behind Paragon Farms in Malibu, CA. But Morse is a force all her own, who has worked from the bottom up to succeed at nearly the greatest level in the world of dressage.
It was with her mother's horse Juvel that she broke onto the National competition scene, winning the team gold medal at the San Antonio Olympic Festival in 1993. The following year she won the team bronze at the Festival in St. Louis, riding Haendel. It was during this time that she started riding Staffan and Margareta Encrantz's Greystoke, a horse that would become dynamic in her riding career.
