Wellington Classic Dressage CDI Competitor's Party at Stillpoint Farm To Feature Australia's Hot Horseman Guy McLean

Stillpoint Farm and Martin Collins Host Event With Support from the Dressage Community

A delightful break in the competition is planned during the Wellington Classic Dressage CDI when Stillpoint Farm and Martin Collins Equine Surfaces host the Friday night Competitor’s Party on February 11th. When Tuny Page first told us her efforts to host this event, we joined in the support as a participating sponsor with Markel Insurance, and DressageDaily's Mary Phelps, a Markel Agent will be on the scene to join in the festivities. Title sponsor Martin Collins Equine Surfaces, whose top of the line footing fills the indoor arena at Stillpoint joins the Competitor’s Party which will include fine cuisine, samplings from Dave Page’s famous wine collection, equestrian vendors and a demonstration by Guy McLean, the Australian horse trainer who will astound guests with his exciting performance and feats of incredible horsemanship.

Mclean’s performance is sure to enthrall the wealth of dressage trainers and riders who attend the event, and Stillpoint is excited to introduce the Wellington community to their international caliber facility and to Martin Collins Equine Surfaces.

McLean, who was a demonstrator at the World Equestrian Games in Lexington, Kentucky, presents a show with between two and four horses featuring Australian horsemanship and training skills. For this engagement, The Dutta Corporation is generously sponsoring McLean’s performance and his shows have been seen across Australia and at Equitana Asia Pacific, with the current tour here in the United States. His horses are presented at liberty and under saddle, and exhibit many of the upper level dressage movements as well as a level of trust in their handler that is unreal.

Stillpoint Farm is the home to many international trainers, including owner Tuny Page. The farm encapsulates Page’s vision of a collaborative training environment for dressage riders and trainers. On ten beautiful acres in the heart of Wellington, Stillpoint features many amenities focused on making both horse and rider feel at home, including a pilates studio and international caliber footing provided by Martin Collins Equine Surfaces. “We are very excited to be hosting the Competitor’s Party for the dressage community and to have Martin Collins Equine Surfaces and all our sponsors contributing. It should be a fantastic evening of equestrian entertainment,” said Page. “We are really looking forward to Guy McLean’s performance, and to spending a night with fellow horse lovers.”

Guests will also be able to enjoy various booths and vendors, whose generous contributions help to make the event possible. Martin Collins Equine Surfaces, the title sponsor, will be introducing the community to their ‘top of the line’ sport horse footing; MC Ecotrack the renowned wax coated footing surfaces the covered arena at Stillpoint and according to Page is the “best footing available.” The MC Ecotrack footing features CLOPF® fiber to provide a supportive and consistently textured surface which as set the stage for many international level competitions including those of World Cup status. The outdoor ring at Stillpoint Farm has been refurbished using the CLOPF® fiber which assists in building root structure and ‘cushion’ to existing sand or sand mix surfaces.

The builders of Stillpoint Farm, Five Star Builders of the Palm Beaches, and their CEO, Tim Williamson, have also provided their support, along with Steve Hamilton of Hamilton Grading Inc, the installer of the Martin Collins Equine Surfaces footing. Stan Schneider of Schneider Tack will be raffling off a dressage bridle, and Alessandro Albanese will be showcasing his exquisite equine couture. SmartPak Equine will be providing gift certificates, as will The Dressage Connection, a premier dressage tack and equipment store based in Wellington and formerly known as EuroAmerican Saddlery. The International Polo Club has presented the event with 800 free passes for Sunday Polo to distribute among the attendees, and Sue Stickle will be giving away a free photo shoot. The event will truly appeal to everyone in the equestrian world, with other contributing sponsors including The Balancing Tonic, Der Dau riding boots, Mary Phelps of Markel Insurance, and Stella and Dot Jewelry.

Stillpoint Farm is thrilled to be able to give back to the Wellington dressage community by hosting the Wellington Classic Dressage CDI Competitor’s Party. The Wellington Classic Dressage shows are one of a series of national and international caliber competitions that take place during the Florida winter show season. “We are so thankful to John Flanagan and his wife Noreen O’Sullivan for their consistency and commitment to providing well organized dressage shows, and we are happy to be able to contribute to the Wellington dressage community,” said Page.

The Martin Collins WCD CDI Competitor’s Party is destined to be one of the most memorable events in the Wellington equestrian season, and is night not to be missed by anyone in the dressage community. Guests are requested to RSVP to Missy Sage at (561) 313 4653.
