As the new year starts in full swing, the 2012 Markel Young Horse Program gets underway with many young horse hopefuls planning their training and competition schedule to qualify for the 2012 Markel/USEF Dressage Young Horse Championships which will be held once again at the beautiful Lamplight Equestrian Center, in Wayne, Illinois, August 22-26. Also featured in the video is Dr. Katie Stanton and her beloved KWPN mare Savannah by Jazz who won the 2004 and 2005 High Score for Amateur rider at the championships. Now a "Mom" Stanton and Savannah excelled in Prix St George, with the Young Horse Program contributing to the a solid foundation in her training.
 
Christoph Hess has worked for the German Equestrian Federation's training department since 1978 and is presently Director of Training and Education at the German Olympic Committee. He is also an FEI Level 3 (I) judge for Dressage and Eventing. He is actively involved internationally in the education of judges and instructors, and has judged and provided commentary for the FEI Young Horse Championships, Stallion shows and the World Equestrian Games in Aachen. Hess comes to the United States frequently throughout the year to judge and instruct at Symposiums and Training programs. Hess is the presenter for the Succeed/USDF FEI-Level Trainers' Conference to be held January 16-17, 2012 at High Meadows Farm, in Loxahatchee, Florida.
