The United States Dressage Team's benefit - "Prancing with the Stars" raised over $272,000 to send US horses and riders to Europe this summer to prepare for the World Equestrian Games and build the foundation for future international competitions. The Fred Astaire Dance Studio of West Palm Beach lent some of its professional ballroom dancers to assist in a benefit event to support the United States Equestrian Dressage Team on March 15, 2014. The special event, entitled, "Prancing with the Stars" after the famous television program "Dancing with the Stars," incliuded a dancing competition to get the auction started for the evening. The festivities were held in the VIP tent at the Global Dressage Facility. Professional dancers Mar Martinez, Tanya Payne, Clifton Sepulveda and Michael Chaves paired up with two professional riders for two performances. The professional dancers were paired with professional riders Chris Hickey, Cesar Parra, Todd Flettrich, Katherine Bateson Chandler, Shelly Francis, Adrienne Lyle, Tina Konyot and Michael Barisone. The top riders all decked out in evening attire celebrated in one of the main wonderful dressage communities the USA - Wellington, Florida and the Global Dressage Festival.
