Equita’Lyon’s famous Equestrian Symphonic show - Equita Lyon has always endeavoured to offer the public high quality shows, each year presenting a totally new choice.  This year, Equita’Lyon is paying tribute to the major musical comedy successes, offering a spectacular combination of the major musical comedy themes performed by the Lyon Symphonic Orchestra, with exceptional and exclusive equestrian choreographies performed by some of the greatest international artists such as Frédéric Pignon and Jean Marc Imbert.

On the Western Side…
The Western Riding Show of Equita’Lyon has become the most important one in Europe. This year, the program will include even more high-level competitions and many demonstrations, with big prize money, American judges, 400 horses, as many cows, and 50 exhibitors ! The NRHA International Reining Open Grand Prix, the first European Barrel Racing Cup, a Cutting competition and the American horse Show, are all organized in conjunction with the official American associations.

Breeding
Breeding is widely represented in Equita’Lyon, with over 40 breeds being shown. The program includes the 3 year-old Selle Français Elite show, an Arab Horse Show, a colored horse Show…and many more!

The emblematic Nikito arena at Equita’Lyon, offers non-stop shows and music, and remains one of the star attractions for the public.  Experienced artists as well as up-and-coming young guns in the equestrian show world produce themselves in a music-hall atmosphere.

The Children Village - 1,800 m2 area specially designed for youngsters, offering a whole range of activities involving ponies and horses.  In 2010 a fun-fair and its different rides will be there to provide the children with even more fun.
The Horse and Rider Health Section - A partnership with Merial and the Veterinary School of Lyon. The horse’s and its rider’s health are a main concern at Equita’Lyon. The horse care area is packed full of expert advice on all aspects of caring for horses, from day-to-day welfare to veterinary advice, designed to be of interest to every category of public. Lectures, live demos on horses, interactive workshops given by equine specialists on various subjects. The 2010 spotlight is placed on dermatology.  As for the rider: posture specialists and physiotherapists will provide practical advice for risk-free riding.
