Ithaca, NY (September 13, 2010) – Trilogy Saddle Ambassadors Debbie McDonald, Scott Hassler and Jeremy Steinberg have all made history in the dressage show ring, and now the three distinguished Trilogy Ambassadors are leaving their mark on the coaching world. McDonald is the USEF Developing Dressage Coach, Hassler is the USEF Young Dressage Horse Coach and Steinberg was recently named the USEF National Dressage Youth Coach. “I want to congratulate Debbie, Scott and Jeremy on holding such esteemed positions and let them know that everyone at Trilogy is so proud of them,” said Debbie Witty, founder and President of Trilogy Saddles.
“It is very exciting because Trilogy has a big focus on education and all three of these Trilogy Ambassadors are educators.”
Witty said Trilogy strongly supports the education of the horse and rider, including the importance of proper saddle fit. “Having Debbie, Scott and Jeremy involved in the education of America’s dressage riders is wonderful. They are nurturing and growing the next generation of riders and that is a great reflection on Trilogy, as our goal is also to nurture and grow the same riders.”
Prior to holding the position of USEF Developing Dressage Coach, McDonald became America’s dressage darling with the Hanoverian mare Brentina. McDonald was the first American to win a World Cup Championship and her outstanding career included winning Olympic medals and representing the United States throughout the world. “I had the good fortune to go along for the ride with Debbie during her career and it was a very exciting ride,” Witty said. “When I decided to create the Trilogy saddle line it was Debbie and Bob McDonald that were by my side immediately with their support for the future.”
Witty said each of the Trilogy Ambassadors holds a special place in her heart, and that Hassler’s dedication to educating dressage riders is valuable to America’s dressage industry. “I have always admired and respected the way that Scott, and his wife Susanne, have given back to the industry through their educational programs and their many years of setting the standard as breeders, managers, instructors and competitors.”
Steinberg, Trilogy’s newest Ambassador to be appointed into a national coaching position, is an accomplished high performance dressage rider who was a NAJYRC Gold Medalist and went on to become a successful professional, competing internationally for the United States. “Jeremy has a great future ahead of him as he has the chance to help and guide young riders, who are the future of dressage. It will be exciting to watch as he develops programs and gives young riders the tools to succeed. Congratulations Jeremy, we are so proud of you and thrilled that you are on our Trilogy team.”
Witty, a qualified saddle fitter from the Society of Master Saddlers of England, developed her line of Trilogy Saddles after recognizing that there was a need in the market place for a saddle line that addresses more of the horse and riders needs. Trilogy offers three dressage saddles: The Debbie McDonald, the Amadeo and the Verago. The Debbie McDonald Dressage Saddle series gives riders two choices: The Debbie McDonald features a flatter, more open seat, narrower seat and straighter leg. The Debbie Special is designed specifically for the petite rider. Trilogy also offers The Amadeo Dressage Saddle, the choice of riders who favor a more moderate depth of seat and twist with a generous seat bone position. The Verago Dressage Saddle is for the rider who prefers a deep seat with a narrow twist and a well-supported seat bone area.
