Petaluma, California – Three more winners claimed bonus money for wearing their SSG Gloves in the SSG Gloves “Roar for More” promotion held during the HMI Equestrian Classic I held July 22-27 at Sonoma Horse Park in Petaluma, California.
Local favorite Hope Glynn of Sonoma Valley Stables earned her first $500 bonus of the season for wearing SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves on her way to victory in the $15,000 USHJA Equitex International Hunter Derby. Glynn was partnered with Roccoco, an 11-year-old Westphalian gelding owned by Avery Hellman, who trains with Glynn.
“I have a hard time with my reins slipping as I have soft fingers, and they are very sticky,” said Glynn, who is a fan of SSG ‘Digitals’ and is planning a shopping spree at the various Sonoma Horse Park vendors. “The SSG ‘Digitals’ make it easier to maintain a constant rein length.”
Another one of Glynn’s students, Emma Waldfogel, was also a winner in the hunter ring, sporting SSG ‘Digitals’ on her way to victory in the $2,000 Der Dau Junior/Amateur-Owner Hunter Classic 3’3” riding Kings Peak. Formerly a 1.30m jumper, Kings Peak has been excelling as a hunter ring for just over one year.
“I like the SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves because I tend to drop my reins in the middle of a round but, since I have been wearing the ‘Digitals’, that really isn’t happening anymore,” said Waldfogel, who planned to put her $500 bonus from SSG Gloves towards her show costs. “I am sticking with the ‘Digitals’!”
Over in the jumper ring, Allison Tussey became a back-to-back winner in the SSG Gloves “Roar for More” promotion. Having won the $2,500 1.10m Children’s/Adult Amateur Classic during the HMI June Classic, Tussey returned to Sonoma Horse Park to capture the $5,000 1.10m Circle Oak Equine Adult Amateur Jumper Classic. Riding her nine-year-old Holsteiner mare Coccinelle, Tussey topped the jump-off by more than two full seconds.
“My SSG ‘Digital’ gloves are incredibly comfortable, and it is nice to find a product that actually does what they say it does!” said Tussey, who trains with Meredith Herman of Burgundy Farms. “I’m on my phone a lot when riding and I love the fact I don’t have to remove my gloves.
“The promotion is an absolutely genius idea!” continued Tussey. “I would really like to say, ‘Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!’ to SSG! I’m hooked for life!”
Now in its third year of partnership with Sonoma Horse Park, SSG Gloves is offering a total of $12,000 in bonus money to competitors through its “Roar for More” promotion during the 2014 show season.
Designed to reward competitors for their loyalty to the SSG Gloves brand, the SSG Gloves ‘Roar for More’ promotion sees four different classes selected as eligible events at each horse show, with a $500 bonus on offer to each of the winning riders if they are wearing SSG ‘Digital’ style riding gloves with the horse head logo clearly visible in all rounds of competition.
