Tenth Annual Challenge of the Americas Returns to Wellington

Wellington, FL - The Tenth Annual Challenge of the Americas competition and gala is set to take place on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the International Polo Club Palm Beach in Wellington, FL. Beginning at 5:30 pm at the Nespresso Pavilion the 2011 Challenge of the Americas (COTA) will be presented by International Polo Club Palm Beach (IPC) and will benefit Play for P.I.N.K., a partner of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

This equestrian evening features musical team quadrilles performed by the "who's who" of top riders in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and Europe.

COTA will be an exciting evening to benefit an incredible cause. In addition to the team quadrille dressage challenge the evening's events will feature a special polo match. COTA Chairmen Mary Ross, along with Georgette Escobar and the Challenge Committee have big plans for this year's event and suggest performances that will be bigger and better than ever.

The 2011 Challenge of the Americas will once again be showcased on Piaget Field, the main polo field at IPC. Overlooking the field, the venue features VIP Box Seats for Challenge Gala Ticket Holders and special Tier Seating for General Admission Ticket Holders. All seats have a panoramic view of Piaget Field where the spectacular equestrian talent will be showcased under the lights.

The Challenge of the Americas has evolved over the past ten years; beginning in 2002 as an afternoon dressage exhibition/luncheon and growing to an under-the-lights international team challenge and Gala in 2005. Its success and continued growth throughout the equestrian community is due to its partnership in the fight against breast cancer.

Another piece of the event's success is due to its unique, ever changing and highly entertaining format.

Following The Challenge of the Americas will be an elegant evening of dinner and dancing at the Challenge Gala. The Challenge Gala, always a sell-out, will be held in IPC's newest addition, the Nespresso Pavilion beside Piaget Field. An awards presentation will be featured and guests will have the chance to meet and socialize with both riders and judges.

Quadrille Team Sponsors include SSG Gloves, Team Canada; Purina Mills, Team USA; The Seley Parker Group of Merrill Lynch, Team International.

Event Sponsors include: USDF; Cunningham & Cunningham Livestock Insurance; Arenus, MatchnRide.com, Back on Track, Wellington Classic Dressage, Palm Beach Equine Clinic, Red Barn Feed & Supply, Jamaica Tent and Sunbelt Rentals.

VIP Challenge Gala Tickets are available for $250 per person and general admission tickets will be $20 at the gate. Children under 12 are admitted free. For more information, please visit the Challenge of the Americas website, www.challengeoftheamericas.com, or contact Mary Ross at 561.852.2591.
