Elgin, IL – The team effort by Our Day Farm trainers, proves to be a win-win for horses and riders at all levels. The Elgin, IL, farm has the ability to help customers achieve their goals, whether it’s attending a grand prix in Europe or children’s jumpers in Rockford, IL, by splitting forces to conquer the task.
The experienced family team: Alex, Maggie and Charlie Jayne and Haylie Jayne-Rolfe, all have the training and knowledge to take riders to any ring; hunter, jumper or equitation, at any level. The versatility of the group allows riders to have a customized training program and the opportunity to experience a variety of competition and training scenarios.
This summer, the team headed in different directions on many of the weekends to divide and conquer. In May, Charlie was in Kentucky while Maggie and Haylie were at Devon. Back in July, Our Day had horses showing in Hickstead, England and another group of students at the Equifest show at Lamplight Equestrian Center with Haylie. While Charlie was at Spruce Meadows, Maggie had Kelsey Thatcher at Tyron, NC, and Haylie was at Ledges with another team of riders.
Maggie and Haylie offered up their teaching and judging skills at the The Wisconsin Equine Derby weekend in August, while Alex took students to Ledges. Last week, Alex judged the USET west coast finals while Haylie and Maggie went to Kentucky for the ASPCA Maclay Regional Finals.
And it’s not just about the versatility – the results are nothing but top notch. Charlie was third in the $210,000 Governor’s Cup Grand Prix in Tryon with Chill R Z, second in the $50,000 Win Vision Grand Prix with Playboy at Lamplight, double clean in the CSI5* $400,000 Pan American Cup Grand Prix in Calgary, Canada to finish 4th. Gia Rinaldi was 4th in the Regional Maclay finals and won the IHJA Junior Medal Finals plus numerous junior hunter championships including WEF.

Other students added Amateur Owner Hunter and Jumper Championships, jumper classic ribbons and Children’s/Adult Jumper ribbons to the Our Day banner as well.
The opportunities and experiences are endless. This week, September 23-27th, the group heads to Central Park, where Charlie will be riding jumpers and Maggie and student Gia Rinaldi will be showing hunters at the exclusive event. After the final indoor shows, the team heads to their winter location in Wellington, FL, where again, the group takes advantage of their versatility to head to other destinations such as Ocala, California and Tryon just to name a few, for special events and competitions.
