Loxahatchee, FL – Furst Amante is a promising up-and-coming dressage horse who is preparing for his small tour debut. This 8-year-old Rhinelander gelding (Furst Piccolo-High Society, Hitchcock), imported from Germany, is offered for sale by owner Sonia Zugel. Furst Amante is currently in training with Bianca Berktold in Loxahatchee, FL. He and Berktold scored 67 percent in his first time out at Fourth Level, winning his class on Aug. 16 at Gold Coast Made in the Shade I.
“He’s an extremely talented horse,” Berktold said after the competition. “It was my first time showing him, and he was fabulous and took it all in. I really couldn’t have asked for more. He didn’t put a foot wrong.”
Zugel purchased Furst Amante from Juan Matute in 2012, and the horse showed his potential from the start, earning high scores of up to 75.4 percent in 6-year-old classes with Lee Tubman in the saddle. Two years later, he has matured and grown stronger as he continues on an upward track.
Furst Amante is successfully schooling the small tour movements with Berktold in preparation to compete on the Wellington winter circuit. He is demonstrating an aptitude for the Grand Prix movements as well. His incredible power, elasticity and athleticism will serve him well at the upper levels.
“He has an unbelievable trot,” Berktold commented. “The passage and piaffe will be really easy for him. His flying changes are huge and ground covering. He’s coming along beautifully.”
Furst Amante has a sweet personality, is easy to handle and hacks out quietly. With his extraordinary talent, he would be the perfect match for a professional or a young rider.
