Representing the United States at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, Germany with the talented Currency DC, this devoted wife and mother has proven time an again she has the talent, determination and horses that keeps her at the top of her game.
Originally from Seattle, Washington, Susan started riding at age 10 on a champion 4H pony that was trained to go English and Western. By age 14, she was a Three-Day Event rider. With the encouragement and support of her parents Don and Jessie Jackson, she continued to event, competing up to Advanced Level, until age 21. "I always loved dressage," explained Susan. "When I was young, I would watch dressage, lengthen my stirrups and pretend. I would follow the older girls around in sitting trot, but I had no idea what I was doing."
Not only does she know what she's doing now, but she is passing on that knowledge to young dressage riders, like she was at one time herself.
