Annville, PA - March 19, 2014 - The St. Christopher's Horse Show, which will be held May 7-11, 2014 at its new location at Swan Lake Stables in Littlestown, PA, has posted its prize list online. The prize list gives general information about the show, details on the many classes available to riders, entry fees, and the show officials. There are also links to the tentative time schedule, entry forms, and stabling forms.
The show management will continue to be provided by Lloyd Longenecker and Ryegate Show Services, even with the change in venue. Swan Lake Stables, a premier hunter-jumper facility located in south-central Pennsylvania, was selected because it provides more space for riding, as well as up-to-date stabling and footing.
"We are excited to be able to offer competitors an extensive schedule of classes combined with our new location at Swan Lake Stables," said show producer Annette Longenecker of Ryegate Show Services. "The show is going to be amazing and we look forward to hosting some of the best hunter-jumper riders and horses in the Northeast!"
The 2014 St. Christopher's Horse Show will feature a USHJA National Hunter Derby, USHJA Pre-Green Incentive Stake and multiple hunter classics. The Hunter divisions will be USEF Premier Rated. All traditional AA & C rated hunter sections will be offered. New for this year will be the addition of Junior Hunter 3'3". The tradition of offering the Hunter Breeding division will continue.
The Jumper Ring will feature a $15,000 Mini Prix, as well as qualifying classes for the Young Jumpers Championships. The jumper divisions will include Adult-Amateur, Low and High Junior Amateur-Owner, Children's plus a Schooling Jumper section.
The equitation divisions will run medal classes for juniors and adults including ASPCA Horsemanship, Taylor Harris National Children's Medal, Pessoa/US Hunter Seat Medal, and Ariat National Adult Medal. The equitation division will also feature a lead line and a walk-trot division.
St. Christopher's Horse Show is a member event for the Pennsylvania Horse Show Association, Eastern Pennsylvania chapter of Professional Horseman's Association, Pennsylvania Jumper Association and Central Pennsylvania Junior Horse Show Association. The show provides an opportunity for competitors to gain points towards year-end standing with featured classes for the North American League (NAL), Marshall & Sterling (M&S) and Washington International Horse Show.
St. Christopher's Horse Show is also part of the TAKE2 Second Career Thoroughbred Program, a program developed by the New York Thoroughbred Horseman's Association, along with the New York Racing Association and New York Thoroughbred Breeders Inc. The goal of the program is to offer new opportunities for off the track Thoroughbreds, as well as promoting the use of the breed in competition.
