As a five-year-old, he won the East Coast Selection Trials for the World Championships for Young Horses with an unprecedented score of 9.82. Later that year, Royal Prince finished in fourth place at the World Championships (the highest American finish to-date).

Royal Prince has helped Michael Bragdell earn his USDF Bronze Medal and the pair also won the Third Level Reserve Championship at the BLM Championships. In 2009 they were ranked 20th in the nation at Fourth Level and 4th for AHS All-Breeds Awards. In 2010, Royal Prince debuted at Prix St. Georges with scores all in the mid to high 60’s.
