Aachen (GER)- The eight-year-old, grey mare Cacharel was the best among the young jumping horses in the Sparkassen-Youngsters-Cup today, which is part of the supporting programme of the FEI European Championships Aachen 2015. Cacharel was born in Portugal, where she also grew up. She has been under the saddle of the Swiss show-jumper Romain Duguet for the past two years. "She is very ambitious and can be very fast," raved the 34-year-old. The pair have in the meantime won several youngsters jumping competition. Duguet has big hopes for the future for his winning mare.

Cacharel already put in a convincing performance in the first class for young horses in the Aachen European Championships stadium, when she came third. The seven-year-old, Timpex Emlek took just 15 hundredths of a second longer to complete the course. Gábor Szabó from Hungary steered the stallion through the course in 62.44 seconds. Cacharel took just 62.29 seconds. The mare, VDL Groep C Tara Z, came third today with the Dutch show-jumper, Leopold van Asten. On Saturday, the best seven to nine-year-old jumping horses will compete in the Final of the Sparkassen-Youngsters-Cup.
