Wellington, FL - The most important tenet of dressage is its foundation in training for every horse and rider – of any age or breed - and nowhere was that more clearly stated than in the decisions of ShowChic Turn Out Award judges at the jogs preceding the Adequan GDF10 CDI and CPEDI3*. Week 10 winners of ShowChic Turnout Awards at Wellington included 13 year-old Asia Ondaatje Rupert and first-time CDI competitor, Deborah Stanitski. Ondaatje Rupert thinks her New Forest Pony gelding, Otinio, is “really cute” but it was the Greenwich, Connecticut, Junior/Young Rider's own adorable image that captured the approval of ShowChic Turn Out Award judges.{C}

“She just beamed as she jogged in and looked great in her outfit,” said Randi Phillips, with equestrian apparel designers 2kGrey, who were partnering with Michele Hundt and her ShowChic Turn Out Award to present a pair of white 2kGrey full seat breeches among the award-winning prizes. “She had a lot of style, including a very nice jacket, and looked extremely well presented for thirteen,” Phillips continued.

Ondaatje Rupert, who has trained with Lendon Grey and Karen Pearson, was in Wellington competing in the FEI Pony Teams and Individual classes. “I love my pony. He's so cute. He likes to scratch his legs but, not during his tests! That's when he loves canter extensions,” said the teen, who modestly added she couldn't take complete credit for turning up a great turnout look. “My mom did help pick out my shirt,” she grinned.

Fellow ShowChic Turn Out Award winner Deborah Stanitski also confessed to relying on a little advice beforehand. The para-equestrian was competing Tiramisum her 14 year-old crossbred Holsteiner/Quarter Horse mare, in their first CDI.

“Pretty exciting?” Stanitski said with a broad grin. “Try pretty scary! We had a fashion consultation back at the house the other night to consider several 'choices in attire, and was told, 'You'll wear this!'

“It is possible to clean me up,” she joked. “And I really like this outfit, I got it at a horse show in Virginia. Tiramisu and I both thank you!”

As Stanitski accepted her ShowChic Turn Out Award, a fan and admirer leaned over Phillips' shoulder and added, “She can dress, she can ride and she can cook! She makes the best tiramisu dessert – even sweeter than she is!”
