Saturday Night Live : The 2012 Pegasus Awards on USEF Network

While many of us are easing into the new year, people who work in all aspects of equestrian sport converge at the United States Equestrian Federation Annual Convention, where rules are voted on, decisions are made, progress is reported, and year end and lifetime honors presented. The, will be broadcasting live the 2012 Pegasus Awards, live from the USEF Annual meeting Saturday Night, January 14, 2012 beginning at 7:30 pm ET. With that and photos of the Horse of the Year Champions Dinner held on Friday, USEF shares with the world the wonderfully produced, historical record of equestrian sport in America, and those being honored including disciplines, breeds, luminaries, sponsors, organizers and officials and staff who work hard to contribute so much to the growth of equestrian sport.

Now the world can share what has always been just a magical evening for those who were there. Lifetime Achievement Award, Virginia’s James “Jim” Wofford,  a legend in his sport of Eventing is bound to be entertaining, with well produced video and imagery and then the witty Wofford himself who will no doubt charm  be entertaining as “Woff” accepts the honor.

Junior Equestrian of the Year is awarded for the first time to a combined driver. Jacob Arnold has embraced the sport of combined driving with maturity beyond his years and has quickly become a young force with which to be reckoned. From the age of eight, Arnold immediately took to the sport – one that traditionally boasts an older demographic. Today, he is already producing top results and represents an exciting future for his sport. 

Pegasus Medals of Honor will be presented during the Pegasus Awards gala on Saturday, January 14, at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza. Additionally, the Equestrian of the Year Award will be announced at the Pegasus Awards.
