Robert L. Johnson Will No Longer Host The Charlotte Jumper Classic

Carolina's Premiere Grand Prix Equestrian Event Cancelled

Charlotte, NC - Robert L. Johnson, founder and chairman of The RLJ Companies today announced that due to the change in Johnson's majority ownership status of Bobcats Sports and Entertainment, the Charlotte Jumper Classic will no longer take place.

"The Charlotte Jumper Classic brought together many of the world's best show jumpers from across the globe, including Olympic riders, as well as junior and amateur riders who competed for the best prize money in the nation," said Johnson. "Show jumping is a sport that families and the community can enjoy and I will always be involved in supporting and encouraging world class show jumping in the United States," Johnson concluded.

About the Charlotte Jumper Classic:
The signature fundraising event for the Bobcats Youth Foundation, the Charlotte Jumper Classic, is a three-day premier horse show jumping competition held at Time Warner Cable Arena.
