Presenting RG Farm's Champion Lipizzan Mare - Rheia Deborah and Richard Inzerillo of RG Farm own this and many other magnificent Lipizzan horses. Hand-picked by the Director of the Spanish Riding School, Dr. Oulehla, the Inzerillo's Lipazzan's come directly from the government stud farm in Piber, Austria. Bringing six Lippizan's from Long Isalnd to the Breed Show at Dressage at Devon the Inzerillo's heard at the last minute that their handler was not able to come, so Deborah and Richard certainly had their hands full. Yet, even with a "catch" handler creating a bit of anxiety, Rheia continued her reign as champion at Devon.

Rheia, a nine year old mare, received a score of 79 last year, one of the highest scores ever awarded since the Breed Show began some thirteen years ago. "Hilda Gurney loved her," commented Deborah. "She asked about riding her, but she's having babies right now." Rheia and many others are "brooding" this season, RG Farms have ten new baby Lipizzaners at home. With that many youngsters growing up at the farm, we can expect to see Deborah and Richard for many years at Dressage at Devon's Breed Show.

Holding Rheia is Naomi Kirk, one of many RG Farm's assistants. "We spend a lot of time working with the horses. All the babies are imprinted. I teach the handlers not too force, but to show the horse what you want in pieces," Deborah said.
