This year's Region Three Young Riders team has had its biggest turnout ever. With nine girls trying to qualify, it has made the competition very exciting. Region Three in 1999 is hoping to give reigning Region 7, California, a run for the Team Gold. With some solid qualifying scores the possibility for individual medals is strong too.
The four riders with the highest overall percentages will make the team. All Young Rider hopefuls are required to show in at least three qualifying shows. After the team is selected they will travel to Wadsworth, Illinois, for the North American Young Riders Competition on August 10-15. United States, Canada, and Mexico will send their very best young riders to this international competition.
Young Rider Teams are required to raise their own funds to reach their goal. Donations for a region's NAYRC team expenses can be tax deductible.
