Prix Equidia - International Jumping Competition CSIW

Simon & Simon !

Saturday,  February 5th, 2011 - A tricky course and a lot of faults; the Prix Equidia was a quite challenging class for the 29 engaged couples. After Simon Delestre and his speedy Orphée de l’Illon made a clear round, the public believed he would once again claim victory as he did the day before.

But then came English legend Micheal Whitaker with Simon II. The pair managed to do even shorter and quicker turns, beating the French couple by ¾ seconds. "Simon is a remarkable horse because of his versatility. He did very well two weeks ago in Amsterdam. He can win speed classes as well as 1m55 Grand Prix classes. He recently ran the World Cup in Toronto without any problem."

Micheal Whitaker is now preparing for tonight’s Rolex FEI World Cup Jumping where he will ride G.I.G. Amai II.
