Pollard Eventing has been recognized at the 2012 United States Eventing Association (USEA) Annual Awards with Nathalie Pollard's nine year old German Sporthorse Schoensgreen Hanni winning the USEA Mare of the Year category. The award marks a high note to what has been a tumultuous year for Pollard Eventing and celebrates the mare who survived the horrific trailer accident, which claimed the loss of three top Pollard Eventing horses.
"Hanni Badger", who has become a celebrity at Pollard Eventing this year, finished the season with a third place at the Galway Downs CCI3* event in November at Temecula, California. Hanni began the year with a win at the Ocala Horse Properties Winter Horse Trials Preliminary division followed by wins at The Fork HT Advanced, Chattahoochee Hills HT Advanced and Richland Park HT Advanced.
'Hanni has become a much valued member of our team and we are all thrilled that she has been recognized with this award. She showed her true character when she climbed her way out of the trailer after the accident to survive against all odds so it's easy to understand why she will forever have a special place at Pollard Eventing," said Michael. "When you get a horse with such fighting spirit who can make a comeback after that and go on to win one event after the other it's humbling to have her contribution to the sport acknowledged in this way and we look forward to another fun year with her."
