Please Participate In This Survey - Perceptions on Pests and Control on Equine Facilities

I am a Master's student in Entomology at the University of Florida.  I am currently working with Dr. Norman Leppla (IPM Florida and Drs. Chris Geden and Jerry Hogsette of the USDA Center for Medical and Agricultural Veterinary Entomology on my Thesis project: Improving Integrated Pest Management for House and Stable Flies on Equestrian Facilities in North and Central Florida.

I have been an equestrian for over 20 years and currently maintain my own small business, Tangerine Sport Horses, while working on this degree.  I feel this gives me a unique opportunity to bring two of my specialties together and really be able to communicate with the equestrian community in discovering their needs.

While conducting research on insect pest problems on equestrian facilities in North and Central Florida, it has become obvious that little attention has been given to horse farms/ranchettes.  Your response is appreciated and will be used in State wide publications and will give support to future grant applications as well and helping your UF/IFAS Livestock Extension Agents provide the most sought after information to you, their clientele.  We want to hear what you want! Please feel free to forward the survey link to any friends or family that are owners, riders, or boarders.
