Palm Restaurant Invitational Begins Friday At Wanderer's Club

Wellington, FL Nov. 7, 2013 - The Palm Restaurant Invitational begins Friday at The Wanderer's Club. It is the seventh and final medium-goal polo tournament of the fall season at Grand Champions Polo Club.

In the featured game on Friday scheduled for 4 p.m., Newport (Wes Finlayson, Gene Goldstein, Michel Dorignac) will play Grand Champions Polo Club (Leo Mandelbaum, Juancito Bollini, Tommy Biddle and Juan Forero, a new member).

Following the game, a poolside barbecue provided by Wanderer's will be held for players and members.

The Wanderer's Club is named for the winning team of the first United States Open Polo championship team.

The winner of Friday's game will advance into Sunday's final against Palm House, which had a bye, at 10 a.m. when the championship action moves to Grand Champions Polo Club.

The loser will play Berlin Polo in the subsidiary at noon.

Before the action on Sunday, spectators and polo fans will be treated to Cars & Coffee at 9:30 a.m. featuring an array of Audi, Braman and Palm Beach exotic cars. The first-time event benefits the Polo School at Grand Champions.

The seven medium-goal tournament fall season has been the most competitive in Grand Champions' seven-year history. Casablanca has won three tournaments; Paladin, Audi and Palm House have each captured one tournament title.

Nov. 30, The Legends of Polo, 1 p.m. and International Cup, Team USA vs. Chile, 3 p.m.

INFORMATION: There are great field side views for tournament action at the home base of pro team Audi. Everyone is welcome to watch high and medium goal polo in a relaxed atmosphere during the spring and fall tournament season and other special events including the International Cup in November, Buzz Welker Memorial Junior Tournament in March, ProKidz Tournaments in the spring and fall, Women's Championship Tournament and Gay Polo League International Tournament, both in April.
