The Pacific Sporthorse Selection, an exciting European style auction will debut in Vacaville, CA on October 19th and 20th, 2012. The auction will feature a collection of 21 high quality dressage horses from foals to FEI trained. There is even a German riding pony in the collection! It is a unique format in that all of the horses presented have been pre-selected, pre-vetted and radiographed. They were hand picked by a jury of dressage judges including Hilda Gurney, Melissa Creswick, Lilo Fore, and Christiane Noelting to ensure that buyers have a selection of excellent quality horses to try. The collection is made up of both imported and US bred horses with some of the best current bloodlines such as Sandro Hit, Gribaldi, UB-40, Rousseau, Sir Donnerhall, Diamond Hit, Hotline, and Don Frederico among many others. See videos and pedigrees of all of the horses at www.sporthorse-selection.com. Horses are currently available for trial by appointment until October 20th. Contact Christiane at 707-761-9031 to schedule a visit.
On Friday, October 19th, guests can expect to see the horses presented in the morning starting at 9:00am. After watching the foals and riding horses, there will be time to enjoy a little lunch and shop with the on site vendors before the start of wine tasting and the Gala Event at 3:30. Guests will be treated to some wonderful California wines, beer and tasty hors d’ouevres while they are entertained by delightful performances including musical freestyles, vaulting, jumping, and trick dogs! The highlight of the evening will be the charity auction for a breeding to the world famous stallion, Sandro Hit. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Tickets to the Gala may be bought at the door for $15 general admission and wine tasting.
On Saturday, the Dressage Center will open at 10:00am with short lectures on a variety of equine related topics such as saddle fitting and acupuncture. There is no charge to attend lectures or the auction on Saturday and everyone is welcome whether they wish to bid on a horse or not! Lunch vendors will be on site for those guests who wish to enjoy the whole day at the PSS. Following the lectures, there will be one last presentation of the horses and foals before the auction begins at 3:00. Then, guests should plan to raise their glass of champagne and enjoy the main feature, the Pacific Sporthorse Selection Auction!
This promises to be one of the highlight horse events of the year and should not be missed. However, the PSS is accepting phone bids for those people who are unable to attend in person. If you wish to arrange to bid by phone, please contact Christiane at 707-761-9031 BEFORE the day of the auction.
