Lexington, KY - Hagyard Equine Medical Institute is the latest to come on board as a sponsor of The Split Rock Jumping Tour, the new international show jumping series set to create an 'unparalleled show jumping experience' in Lexington, KY. Hagyard is also capitalizing on the innovative "All-Inclusive Competitor Package" being offered by Split Rock to allow Venezuelan Olympic veteran Pablo Barrios to compete via an all-expenses-paid package. The Split Rock Jumping Tour's inaugural FEI 3* competition, the Lexington International CSI 3*, will be held May 22-24. Barrios joins a star-studded field of Olympic veterans and Grand Prix champions competing for over $200,000 prize money, FEI world ranking points and a chance to win a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox valued at over $31,000.00!
Barrios has competed at the international level throughout the world, including at the 2008 Olympics; the 1998, 2006, 2010, and 2014 FEI World Equestrian Games; the 2011 FEI World Cup Final; and the 1983, 2007, and 2011 Pan American Games. He is a three-time winner of the Hagyard Challenge Series Leading Rider Bonus.
"It seems only right that we should sponsor a three-time Hagyard Challenge Series leading rider," said Rhonda Rathgeber, DVM, PhD, head of Hagyard's Sport Horse Program. "And for that to be someone with Pablo's experience on the world stage is very exciting. We look forward to playing a part in his future success."
"I have always felt a great connection with Lexington, visualizing it as the perfect place for our horses," stated Barrios. "It is home to Hagyard Equine Medical Institute, which is unconditionally available to provide its invaluable services. I feel grateful and very optimistic about this partnership, knowing it will produce immense benefits to my horses and my career."
The Split Rock Jumping Tour's unique 'All-Inclusive Competitor Packages' allow sponsors to invite a rider of their choice to compete at Split Rock with all expenses covered. Each package includes nominating fees, entry fees, stall fees, administrative fees, hotel rooms at the title lodging sponsor, a VIP FEI rider access pass for the VIP tent, and access to the FEI concierge tent for the riders, grooms, and owners. Stabling arrangements can be customized, the stalls will be prepared and bedded before the horses arrive, and the initial cost of stall bedding is also included. In addition, the complementary competition staff valet services will assist with the unloading of horses and equipment from the trailer upon arrival.
"This packageis just one of the features that make the Split Rock Jumping Tour stand out among the other shows across the country," said Derek Braun, Founder and President of the Split Rock Jumping Tour. His experience as an international competitor helped him develop this and other progressive ideas that are helping to change how show jumping is presented in this country. "We believe this type of approach to sponsorships serves the needs not only of the sponsors, but also the riders and the owners. No other horse show offers anything like this, and the feedback from the sponsors and riders has been amazing!"
On Sunday, May 24, Split Rock will present the $15,000 Hagyard Equine Medical Institute U25 Young Rider Cup, also generously sponsored by the veterinary institute. The class supports up-and-coming show jumping riders under the age of 25.
In addition to enjoying the excitement of watching Barrios and other of the sport's top riders and horses, those attending the Split Rock Jumping Tour will be able to enjoy a Children and Family Festival, Beer and Wine Garden, Boutique Village and cash giveaways!
