Once again Fredrick and Susan Gohl hosted an interesting and eclectic mixture of guests from the Wellington Dressage world, and their Palm Beach friends on their exquisite new 106 foot Lazzara motor yacht the Susanna Bella, docked in the Palm Beach Harbor. Susan who recently returned from her annual trip to Cuba, made this year’s not to be missed end of the season soiree a Cuban theme, with live music, Cuban food, and canastas. The Gohl’s purchased the Lazzara Yacht at the 2002 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, ordering “hull number three.” NASCAR champ Jeff Gordon has hull number two.
Susan Gohl, who trains with Lynda Alicki during the winter months, owns the handsome Hannoverian liver chestnut gelding L’Aviateur, sharing the horse in the Grand Prix classes. Gohl, who rides in the amateur division, also owns Flying Dutchmen Farm, in Barrington Hills, Illinois.
Gohl, generously donated an evening on the Susanna Bella to the Vinceremos Fundraiser, raising a large sum of money to the highest bidder Gene Mische, who with a group of friends will be enjoying an evening cruise in Naples, Florida on the beautifully decorated yacht an Italian motif by John Regas, who will be hosted by Gohl’s full time Captain and Chef.
On a breezy Friday evening with a brilliant sunset, dressage riders mixed and mingled. Present were Lynda Alicki, Nan Sexton, Lilly Zilo, Mary Ann Grant, Sue Jaccoma, Patrick and Marisol Burssens, Thomas Poulin, Ryan Yap, Kathy Connelly, Tina Konyot, Peter and Pati Pieuricci, Michael Kohl, Tim and Susie Dutta, Susan Rubin, and Mary Phelps and JJ. Hathaway.
