2008 Potomac Valley Dressage Association (PVDA) Ride for Life Benefit Horse Show to be held June 28-29, 2008 at the Prince George’s Equestrian Center, Upper Marlboro, MD announced that Nicole Uphoff, the famous German dressage Olympic Gold Medalist, will be its special guest and celebrity judge at the special evening “Dancing Horse Challenge” on Saturday June 28th.
There will be dressage exhibitions by a number of talented FEI riders including Christopher Hickey, the 2007 Pan Am Games Gold Medalist, Dr. Cesar Parra, a former Olympic and Pan Am Games participant, in addition to various other entertaining exhibitions, such as Megan Benjamin, the World Equestrian Games Gold Medal vaulter, live musical entertainment, western reiners, quadrille drill teams and others. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the event and a $15 donation is suggested. Tickets for the gala dinner that evening are available for $50 and the fabulous silent auction items will be on display, including the chance to win a $500 Dover Show Shopping Spree!
The PVDA Ride for Life Show is thrilled to partner with Dover Saddlery, one of the pre-eminent tack stores and brands in the USA for horse and rider equipment, for this very special event. The PVDA Ride for Life Show is both a benefit for breast cancer research at the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Center, and a two-day USDF-licensed dressage show with classes from intro level to Grand Prix including a special Saturday evening “Dressage Challenge.” Dover Saddlery joins other much appreciated sponsors and media partners including Dressage Today, the United States Dressage Federation, DressageClinic.com and DressageDaily.com.
For a second year, artist Robert Bevans has created original art for Ride for Life. Signed commemorative posters will be available at the show.
