Having already achieved a certain level of success, Nancy Pugh Later is now looking toward the next step in her career, which she says is to get another Grand Prix horse and compete on an international level, possibly with some more financial security.
"I am finally pursuing sponsorship, and I am very interested in the growth of dressage as a spectator sport.
The Alltech/FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) 2010 in Kentucky will be a fantastic venue for the promotion of our sport. I love it that my life can be filled with horses, and I feel very lucky that I am able to do this day after day."
She admits that she would have a problem doing anything every day that she was not passionate about.
When asked what she would do if she weren't a dressage rider, she responded, "I had thought about being a vet but was unsure that I could really take the suffering of the animals every day.
I would have to say I would do something therapeutic with horses or other animals. If not, then some kind of conservation work with elephants and other endangered animals."
Where does Nancy think she'll be in ten years? She says she hopes to have accomplished some good international riding and be able to continue her riding in a relaxed way as well as travel a lot more with her boyfriend, Matt Lavoie.
